How do I use it?
In the First Draft NewsCheck extension, you can see if the image or video you are looking at is an original piece of content or not. If the extension detects it’s an original image or video, it then displays an additional checkbox so you can mark it as verified.
When you’re looking at news, images, or videos that are available for public consumption, First Draft NewsCheck will try to verify that they are original, not manipulated, fake or copyrighted. It uses a crowdsource verification system to verify the news. When you’re looking at an image, it will display a checkbox, telling you whether it is an original image, modified image, image with watermarks, or photo with logos.
You’ll be able to see your score, which shows how confident you are that it’s an original piece of content. You’ll also be able to see the verification score of the news.
